The People We Serve
Many Backgrounds. One Shared Life in Christ.
Our ministry brings together people from diverse cultural, national, and generational backgrounds, united by faith in Jesus Christ. While African diaspora families are central to our present ministry context, our desire is to welcome people from every background and to grow as a congregation shaped by the Gospel, strengthened by Christian fellowship, and committed to loving our neighbors.
Our Present Context
African Diaspora Families in Metro Atlanta
Our congregation includes individuals and families with roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and Cameroon. Through our wider ministry relationships and experience, we are also connected with other African immigrant and refugee communities in the region.
These relationships provide meaningful opportunities to share the Gospel across cultures and generations. They also allow us to recognize and build upon the gifts, experiences, and perspectives that people bring with them as they become part of a new community.
Our vision is not simply to gather people who share a cultural background, but to build a church family where people from different backgrounds can be united in Christ, grow together in faith, and serve their communities together.
The Next Generation
Children, Young People, and Families
Children and young people are an important part of our ministry vision. Many young people in immigrant and diaspora families are growing up between the culture of their families and the broader American community. We want to help them:
We also recognize the importance of strengthening parents and families. Parents need encouragement, meaningful relationships, spiritual support, and opportunities to grow together in faith.
Through worship, prayer, biblical teaching, fellowship, mentorship, and the everyday care of a church family, we seek to create an environment where families can experience belonging and grow together in Christ.
Compassion and Practical Care
Understanding the Journey of Resettlement
As a former refugee, Thomas understands firsthand many of the challenges that can accompany starting a new life in another country. Language differences, cultural adjustment, navigating unfamiliar systems, and separation from established family and support networks can make the process of finding community and belonging especially significant.
This experience informs our desire to respond with compassion, understanding, and practical care.
At the same time, we want to help people move beyond simply receiving support. We believe every person has God-given gifts, experiences, and abilities that can contribute meaningfully to the life and mission of the church.
Our desire is to help individuals and families not only find a place where they belong, but also discover how they can serve, lead, and participate in God's mission.

Real Journeys
Stories from Our Families
When we arrived, everything was new—the language, the systems, the winters. This church became family before we knew anyone's name.
Grace — DR Congo
Arrived with three children · now helps welcome new families
I came looking for help. I found a place where my gifts mattered, and now I lead prayer on Wednesdays.
Emmanuel — Central African Republic
Resettled in Clarkston · now serves on the prayer team
My children are growing up between two cultures. Here they are learning who they are in Christ.
Marie — Cameroon
Mother of two · now mentors young people
Unity in Christ
Building Bridges with Neighboring Churches

We also see an opportunity to build meaningful relationships between African diaspora believers and established local churches throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
Through shared prayer, fellowship, service, discipleship, and community outreach, churches can learn from one another, encourage one another, and demonstrate the unity that believers share in Jesus Christ.
We hope to develop relationships that are mutually beneficial—not simply receiving support, but also contributing our gifts, experiences, cultural perspectives, and passion for mission.
Our Desire
Our desire is to see individuals and families:
- 1Find a church home.
- 2Belong to a Christian community.
- 3Grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
- 4Discover and use their God-given gifts.
- 5Serve their neighbors.
- 6And participate in God's mission locally and beyond.
Ultimately, we want to cultivate a church family where people from many backgrounds can experience the transforming power of the Gospel and discover that, in Christ, we are one body, one family, and one people called to serve God's purposes together.
